I spoke very freely and impulsively on this video because I wanted it to be of that nature.

I was basically saying that when you practice, people get unmotivated because they feel the things people have told them to practice isn’t relevant to their playing. So I personally think you should focus on what you need to learn rather than what you want to learn. With this method I believe you will see progress quicker because you actually notice yourself using what you are practicing.

For Example;

You play in a hard rock band. Alternate picking will be more useful than chord harmony. So practice the Alternate picking as a main priority then learn what you want to learn after the fundamentals are out of the way and done.
