CAMERA SHOTS

wide shot- they are good for showing the environment around the scene

close up shots-A closeup or closeup in filmmaking, television production, still photography, and the comic strip medium is a type of shot that tightly frames a person or object. Closeups are one of the standard shotsused regularly with medium and long shots(cinematic techniques).

extreme close ups- Extreme Close Up (ECU, XCU) The ECU (also known as XCU) gets right in and shows extremedetail. You would normally need a specific reason to get this close. It is too close to show general reactions or emotion except in very dramatic scenes. A variation of this shot is the choker.

medium shots- The medium shot is a general, all-purpose shot. Medium shots are used for dialogue sequences, and they allow the viewer to pick up on the character’s movements and gestures. Body language is important to conveying emotion, and the medium shot remains close enough to capture that emotion.

32 bar composition

Today I made a composition 32 bars long. It is inspired by ‘The Crunge’ by led zeppelin. I made a drum beat in 7/4 and put a baseline in the key of G minor over it and put some funky guitar on there too. then added an African kit subtly playing off beat. then it goes into 4/4 with a swing feel then back to straight feel. then back into the 7/4 riff.

Week 4

This week I began writing my single which will be finished and performed by December. Since this is the first week of writing it I have decided on band members and what instruments I will need in the single.

In groups we have also been writing chord progressions that modulate from one key to another using the circle of fifths.
